Funding and evaluation criteria

The following criteria are used in the evaluation.

  • Scope: Is the projectfellowship proposal within the scope of the call as described in the Call Specifications?

The key criteria in the evaluation of proposals are the applicant's scientificacademic quality,potential, novelty,the interdisciplinarityadditionality and transdisciplinaritystrategic value for their individual research trajectory, and the quality of the applicant-host complementarity:.

  • The ScientificAcademic excellence and academic potentialPotential of the applicant(s):applicant Accomplishmentsis assessed by their accomplishments relative to academic age and their demonstrated research potential ofto the applicants tosuccessfully conduct the proposed research (measured by academic age).work.
  • InnovativeAdditionality characterevaluates the strategic value of the proposedfellowship researchby project:determining Doesif the proposedplanned researchactivity workand meethost institution are essential to accelerate the highestapplicant's relevant international quality standards? Does the project show scientific originalitycareer and innovativeacquire aspects?otherwise Areunavailable the methods and research approaches appropriate and complementary? Does the project have the potential to explore novel research avenues and approaches?expertise.
  • Consortia compositionApplicant and interdisciplinaryHost collaboration:Complementarity Consortiaevaluates shouldthe includeoptimal anmatch appropriatebetween mixthe ofapplicant's expertise,skills, bringingthe together researchers from complementary scientific disciplines. A clear descriptionexpertise of the roles,host responsibilities,group, and competenciesthe suitability of all core team members is mandatory.
  • Partnership with non-academic stakeholders: Consortia must demonstrate how researchers, patient representatives, and relevant stakeholders will actively collaborate throughout the project.available Roles need to be specified in e.g. project governance and/or how they will contribute to key research decisions and processes.resources.

Further criteria include academic & clinical impact, feasibility of the proposed projectfellowship plan, Data managementplan and Gender aspects. Please note that career breaks such as for parental leave, care duty and prolonged illness will be taken into account in the evaluation of the proposals. In order for these to be considered, please provide the relevant time periods.
