Submission Process

Proposals must be submitted via the WWTF Funding Portal. All proposal information will be processed via this system. Proposals which arrive at WWTF any other way than the  WWTF Funding Portal will not be considered.

Limitation of proposals submitted per institution

Because the call is very open in terms of the project content, WWTF wants to avoid that the selection jury is overwhelmed by proposals. To keep the evaluation process manageable and fair for everyone, we're setting limits on how many proposals each institution can submit. The number of proposals is limited per institution in the following way:

Institution Max. number of submissions
Very large scientific public universities (> 4500 scientific staff) (University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, TU Wien) 15
Middle-sized scientific public universities (1.000-4.500) (BOKU University, WU Wien) and Austrian Academy of Sciences (inkl. sub-GmbHs) 10
Smaller scientific public universities (< 1.000) (VetMedUni) and Austrian Institute of Technology 5
Art universities, universities of applied sciences, private universities 3
All other institutions 2
Pre-selection at institutions

Proposal submission by individual applicants without the authorization / pre-selection of their institution are not possible in this call.

Submitting institutions have to make a pre-selection and authorize the submission. The leadership of the institutions must send WWTF the email addresses of those authorized to submit. For those applicants authorized by the institutions, WWTF will create a proposal (considering the limitations stated above).

The submitting institution is free to define their own internal selection processes, given the scope of the call.
