Submission Process

Applications must be submitted via the WWTF Funding Portal. All application information will be processed via this system. Proposal which arrive at WWTF any other way than the  WWTF Funding Portal will not be considered. 

Limitation of proposals submitted per institution

Because the call is very open in terms of the project content, WWTF wants to avoid that the selection jury is overwhelmed by proposals.

Per institutions, the number of submissions is limited in the following way:

Very large scientific public universities (> 4500 scientific staff) (University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, TU Wien) 15
Middle-sized scientific public universities (1.000-4.500) (BOKU University, WU Wien) and Austrian Academy of Sciences (inkl. sub-GmbHs) 10
Smaller scientific public universities (< 1.000) (VetMedUni) and Austrian Institute of Technology 5
Art universities, universities of applied sciences, private universities 3
All other institutions 2

As an incentive for inter-institutional cooperation, applications that involve 2 or more different institutions do not fall unter der above limitations (two proposals max.). E.g. smaller public universities can submit 5 proposals and additionally 2 which involve other institutions. 

Optionen für die Einreichung:

  1. Unis melden uns die Einreichberechtigten; wir legen Proposal für diese Personen an
  2. Anträge können frei angelegt werden. Die Einreichung ist aber nur mit Unterschrift der Institution gültig. Unis müssen darüber Buch führen. Im Falle einer Überbuchung entscheidet die Institution, welche Proposals rausgenommen werden. 
  3. Anträge können frei eingereicht werden und brauchen noch keine institutionelle Unterschrift. Die Leitungen der Institutionen fungieren als Pre-Jury: Sie erhalten Zugang zu allen Proposals und wählen aus, nachdem die Proposals bei uns eingereicht wurden. Erst dann ergehen die Proposals an unsere Jury. 

Please note that proposals can be created freely in the Funding Portal. In order to count as formally valid submission, the authorization by the leadership (e.g., rectorate) is mandatory. Do not submit if you do not receive the authorization. Non-submitted proposals will be deleted automatically soon after the submission. In case that the institutional limit is exceeded, the institutions will be asked to withdraw excess applications.
